Rep. Lewis signed on to Rep. Higgin’s February 12, 2008 letter to President Bush. The letter encourages the President to increase the U.S. diplomatic effort on Darfur.
On April 27, 2008, Rep. Lewis was arrested for protesting against the Darfur genocide in front of the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, D.C.
