Rep. Tierney received extra-credit for holding a hearing on Darfur and the Olympics. The hearing was held on June 7, 2007 and helped to bring further awareness to the Darfur crisis and the relationship between China and the government of Sudan.

Rep. Tierney signed on to Rep. Higgin’s February 12, 2008 letter to President Bush. The letter encourages the President to increase the U.S. diplomatic effort on Darfur.
