Rep. Ellison signed on to Rep. Higgin’s February 12, 2008 letter to President Bush. The letter encourages the President to increase the U.S. diplomatic effort on Darfur.
On March 11, 2007, a Town Hall Forum on genocide in Darfur featured Rep. Ellison speaking about important state and federal initiatives.
On April 27, 2008, Rep. Ellison was arrested for protesting against the Darfur genocide in front of the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, D.C.
