Sen. Sherrod Brown was newly elected to the Senate for the 111th Congress. The senator was not able to participate in Senate legislation prior to January 2008, and has not been graded on these legislative measures.

Senator Brown was member of the House of Representatives for the state of Ohio prior to being elected to the Senate. As a member of the House of Representatives, Senator Brown co-sponsored the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act, the NATO Bridging Force, and the Presidential Special Envoy. He also voted in favor of the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act, Funding Amendment for Protection, and the Funding Amendment for Humanitarian Aid.
In response to the release of the Darfur scorecard, Sen. Brown said “Civilians in Sudan are being systematically murdered, raped and brutalized by the government and other forces. The world has recognized these atrocities, but has done little to intervene. The United States and the international community must work together to end the genocide.”
